destination satisfies only half of the traveler's desire, the other
half is satisfied by the journey.
After the bridge, keep right, crossing Fornovo di Taro (the old Forum novum) and we take the straight road to the south.
left towards Calestano.
So y ou go through Val Sporzana, dominated by the dark mass of volcanic rock (Ophiolite) Mount Prinzera (Riserva Naturale).
The valley rises gently, passing a few kilometers from the Parish of Bardone, already known in 1004 and stage of pilgrims on the Via Francigena.
After the bridge turn right and start ascending the valley.
Superb views, massive outcrops of the flysch (layers of rock in which alternating sandstones and marls) and the rocky crags of the "Salti del Diavolo".
Later, with a detour, you can see the old humpback bridge of Fugazzolo.
The valley becomes narrower ... and you reach the junction (left) for Bosco / Lagdei.
We climb through the woods, cross the border of the park and you come to Sillara Pass, which separates the Val Baganza from Val Parma.
Two minutes of stopping on to feel the fresh air of 1200 m. altitude and then descend through the woods, through Marra. The mountain village, quite well preserved, is home to an old fountain / sink.
Continue until you reach Bosco di Corniglio and here you turn left.
Left the village and you are on the road through the beech forest. Arrived in place called "Cancelli" (a clearing full of signs), turn right. It seems just another planet: a dark forest, firs as tall as buildings ... suddenly opens into the plain light of Lagdei ... the bed of an ancient glacial lake now buried ... well here!
