Breathtaking views of the Tyrrhenian Sea (by M. Calzamiglia)

The Aincient Forest

The CAI trails
To discover the most beautiful part of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park, all you have to do is arrive at Rifugio Lagdei.
Here, await you the ancient forests of fir and beech, breathtaking ridges, Lago Santo, the Lagoni and Lago Scuro lakes, the peaks of Mount Marmagna, Orsaro, and Braiola, the peaceful rolling pastures of Monte Tavola, blueberry fields, and the high-altitude meadows....
Just two hours of trekking to set foot in Tuscany while enjoying views ranging from the Tyrrhenian Sea to the Alps.
Rifugio Lagdei lies at the heart of a dense network of trails, well-marked by the Parma section of the CAI, that allow hikes for all levels: in less than an hour’s walk you can reach Lago Santo (the less adventurous can even get there by chairlift), while the more experienced can plan loop hikes up to ten hours, with plenty of intermediate options.
Here are some suggestions for everyone: hikers, athletes, families with children.. (Itineraries selected by the Province of Parma as part of the "Trailpark" project)..
